What is a Schnoodle?

So, WHAT IS A SCHNOODLE? A Schnoodle is a cross between a pure-bred Poodle and a pure-bred Schnauzer. The Schnoodles we produce are known as First Generation or F1 for short. Potential buyers are often misled regarding the “Schnoodle” cross. As I’ve explained, the first generation cross between a purebred Poodle and purebred Schnauzer produces the first-generation hybrid and the ONLY true Schnoodle. ONLY this cross consistently produces the Schnoodle characteristics that we all love.

When I first heard the word Schnoodle, I too said What is a Schnoodle? When I first started breeding this cross, however, I was hooked. They have all the wonderful qualities I love from both breeds. We make sure to breed similar sized parents to insure we get a well-proportioned, balanced puppy every time. We want our puppies to have a well-balanced face and body. Also, we want the weights to be consistent. All these things are important parts of producing a well-rounded dog. Our puppies all share a similar look for this reason. Some may take after the Poodle more with a leaner body and a curlier coat. While others may take more after the Schnauzer by having a stockier look and a straighter but still soft coat.
